I also know folks at ACX who might help. I now have seven books up there with two more in the works. Love audio books myself - been listening like a madman during morning exercise and commuting. ;o) Best wishes - AaronAaron Paul Lazarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06117814221437165664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-259810607439728423.post-54385410112340528352013-01-24T15:24:18.928-06:002013-01-24T15:24:18.928-06:00Great post, Aaron! And realized I'd have to start the book cover from scratch in the beginning. Since I'd already made the first in photoshop, no problem.

Except it still won't work! :) I love listening to audiobooks, so I think it's a great avenue for us to expand our work! As a charter member of the shameless commerce division, I should add that you can receive a copy of MIND THE GAP AND 2 OTHER MYSTERIES for a mere $17.27 (which includes the price of the book, packaging and mailing). (There are others.)
I inadvertently posted your comment twice, and then deleted the repeat. That balance is one that must be achieved in the same sense that one must (in my humble opinion) balance the sense of action/tension/events with the scenes that show and promote characters who make the readers truly care about them. Whether you are interspersing homey scenes with high paced action (like I do in LeGarde Mysteries), or simply adding a bit of narrative to slow down the action and tease the reader into wanting more...it's all a balancing act!Aaron Paul Lazarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06117814221437165664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-259810607439728423.post-89532014260312525932009-08-26T10:05:29.154-05:002009-08-26T10:05:29.154-05:00Congratulations on the book, Jared. And, yes, the dialogue does create suspense while developing character and furthering the plotline. I could see the links: things that happened off-stage in FALCON were already there in WHOSIT, which is why the novel is mostly dialogue, and Floyd Thursby is shot offstage (by Wilmer), as Captain Jacoby.
http://www.eloquentbooks.com/TheForeverGirl.htmldeverowehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07005500942098238921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-259810607439728423.post-58324334594182821992009-05-17T06:58:00.000-05:002009-05-17T06:58:00.000-05:00I enjoyed your discussion of suspense in mystery w...I enjoyed your discussion of suspense in mystery writing and learned from it as well.
